Motorcycle Crash Sends Person to Hospital

On Monday afternoon, April 18 a motorcycle crash sent a person to hospital.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office the accident happened at around 3 p.m.in the 13300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue north of Hagerstown near the entrance to the Volvo Group Trucks plant.

Stanley Paul Pavlosky, 60, was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle and riding south on Pennsylvania Avenue when he collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu being driven by 66 year old Donald Leroy Crum of Hagerstown, that pulled onto the roadway from Volvo Way.

When help arrived, a motorcycle and a helmet were lying on the sidewalk in the northbound lane of Pennsylvania Avenue or U.S. 11. There was also a two wheeled motorcycle trailer at the scene with an American flag on the back.

Pavlosky was airlifted to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, apparently due to the extent of his injuries and his age.

The Sheriff’s Office is still carrying out an investigation and so far Crum has been charged with failure to yield the right of way.
